Our Story

About us..well we are a small family run business with aspirations to grow but to never forget where we came from and to always give back. To be honest when we decided to move into the world of frozen foods and fish and fresh groceries we had no idea where to start. My driving force was a memory of my late granddad, my dada, who would travel by bus all over just to buy good quality products at a fair price.
Firstly if you would indulge me, i would like to tell you a bit about my granddad - he like many migrants that came over to the UK from the south of Asia in the 50's, wasn't educated - he was a simple man who worked hard on manual labor jobs never wanting more then what he needed.
When he would go shopping he would always say, "charge me more but sell me good quality produce".
He was also well known for going shop to shop just to get the best price, even for toilet role. His words eco in my ears, now from my father, "save the pennies, without them you will never get the pounds".
He was always an avid supporter of the local shops - saying without them the UK wouldn't be what it is now and to always support them wherever possible.
It is with these and many more fond memories i took the decision to open up Islam Groceries, a place where you can purchase all your essentials with confidence that it is of the highest quality and the best price we can bring to you.
But of course i bought it to the modern times, with my own twist and with the intent to reach the masses, i am after all the grandchild.​
